What I remember every single year with ProAction is the power of working with like-minded people who have a passion for what they do and the impact we make. No matter what transpires throughout each year, I’m so grateful for this group of people.

– Tim Van Mieghem, Founding Partner

Co-founded in September 1995 by Tim Van Mieghem, David Anderson, John McKay, and Jeff Temple, The ProAction Group has always sought to solve problems and deliver results. While the journey over the past 30 years has had its twists and turns, it’s 4 turning points that have shaped the company into the operating resource partner that countless clients depend on.

Passion & Vision (where it all started)

From the start, ProAction’s co-founders were passionate about their vision of being a results-driven consulting firm. While others were simply providing assessments, making sweeping changes without any analysis, or executing cost-cutting and RIFs, ProAction took a different approach.

With the philosophy that “the problem is never the problem,” their consulting focused on finding and fixing the right thing while developing the client’s team on the processes to solve problems (results-based training).

After a few years, another idea was born…

The Game Changer

Around year 3, a new strategy changed everything. ProAction shifted to working with highly experienced, seasoned experts and expanded beyond supply chain services to become a complete solution.

With an elevated bench of accomplished talent, ProAction now had a powerful team that included Lean, Inventory, Manufacturing, and more.

Great things were on the horizon…

Preparing for the Future

In the early 2000s, ProAction shifted the focus to the M&A space. To this day, we help those buying companies and companies preparing for sale uncover hidden value and drive transformational growth.

In 2002, Doug Blanchard joined the ProAction Group, eventually becoming the CEO in 2022. Together, he and Tim created ProAction’s Core Values and grew the team. While we lost Doug on January 15, 2025, and miss him dearly, his legacy continues in everything we do.

Today and Beyond

After all these years, it’s good to know who we are and who we are not. We are not a cost-cutting firm, and we do not do RIFs.

We help companies claim their hidden value and, as a result, we change people’s lives. Success for us isn’t just value creation. It’s knowing that because of our efforts and expertise, the Plant Manager can go home at night to their family, knowing that their team is now capable of running operations through results-based training and development.

We help our clients create self-improving organizations with sustainable operations for the long haul. And we look forward to the next 30 years!
