Robyn Rooks
Robyn has more than twenty-five years’ experience in lean manufacturing working with clients and their Lean journey to implement Lean Manufacturing. Robyn spent 12 years in Final Assembly, New Model Development, and Production Control at the Toyota Georgetown, KY. facility, and has extensive experience in the Toyota Production System. Robyn was a specialist in Production Control when he left Toyota to join RWD Technologies and start his new career as a Lean Practitioner. Robyn has been a senior lean practitioner for the past 24 years assisting companies such as Ford, Chrysler, Harley-Davidson, Gates, Toro, Acument Global, Parker Hannifin, and Stanley Black & Decker, where he has had great success in unionized and non-unionized plants in the U.S. and abroad.
Prior to joining The ProAction Group, Robyn has coached Division and Site Lean Leaders at 16 sites across 5 divisions on their internal WIN Certification and PLS system. Robyn’s focus areas related to flow within the facility, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Quick Change Over (QCO), Plan for Every Part (PFEP) philosophies (e.g. 5S, material flow, centralized supermarket, and line balance), and distribution center organization.
His success implementing material flow in a hydraulic hose and fitting facility, resulted in the creation of centralized supermarkets and control on batch builds and inventory reduction of $450,000. While working in a global marine engine manufacturing, he implemented PFEP philosophies, resulting in first-pass material savings of $750,000 and manpower reduction of twelve people. He used his training from Toyota to co-author and implement a phased TPM program for a large rubber belt manufacturer, across several plants, where he introduced and trained Autonomous Maintenance checklists and audit measurements, realizing a 23% uptime increase and a 60% reduction in yearly replacement motor cost. Robyn has also helped clients develop distribution storage, receiving, and put away concepts as well as develop and train distribution personnel on zoning, storage slotting, and material placement, resulting in a 70% increase in lines picked per hour metric greatly improving customer on-time delivery and order accuracy.
Robyn is a Veteran of the United States Air Force and co-author of “Turbo Flow: Using Plan for Every Part (PFEP) Turbo Charge Your Supply Chain”.
