Sheldon Chong

Sheldon has more than 25 years of experience in quality and lean manufacturing and has held leadership roles in many functional departments including Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Management, Quality, and Safety. His background includes both consulting and industry roles and his expertise spans several industries including semiconductor fabrication equipment, consumer appliances, and large electrical switchgear and generator enclosures.

Sheldon is passionate about building world-class quality systems to reduce defects, improve profitability, and improve customer satisfaction. He is a servant leader who believes in the team problem solving approach and has a bias for action.

Sheldon is an expert in leading and facilitating cross functional teams to develop a problem-solving culture and leverage team expertise.

Prior to joining The ProAction Group, Sheldon served in several key leadership roles. As Program Quality Manager at a large global appliance manufacturer, he led the transformation of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process within the Supply Chain by implementing lean methodologies in the supply base and qualifying suppliers to support all new appliance launches. This new strategy became the benchmark for the other divisions in the company.

Later, as Director of Quality at a conglomerate, Sheldon guided the deployment of Lean and Six Sigma initiatives across 3 separate company sites. Sheldon also led the implementation and certification of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. His efforts were instrumental in driving a corporate turnaround strategy.

Sheldon holds a MS in Management from Troy University and a BS in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Florida. He is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor. Sheldon is also a former Air Force officer and decorated Gulf War veteran.
