Terrence Sorrell

Terrence Sorrell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in maintenance management, standardized work implementation, Six Sigma methodologies, scheduling, and utilization of systems. His career spans various industries, including automotive, energy, oil & gas, chemical, medical device, and manufacturing. Terrence is adept at driving operational excellence, improving performance, and generating sustainable revenue gains.  His expertise in maintenance, standardized work, Six Sigma, scheduling, and CMMS systems, makes him a valuable asset to any organization seeking to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

 

Prior to joining ProAction, Terrence was a Continuous Improvement Engineer for a manufacturer of medical instruments, diagnostics, and tools where he established a Planned Maintenance Program that improved equipment uptime, executed daily management of KPI’s, assisted in the implementation of TPM and controls process, and cross-trained labor to maximize thru-up efficiency and enhance departmental flexibility. During his time at a wire cable company, Terrence also implemented a CMMS system and built the criteria to assist in training.

 

Terrence has mentored clients, focusing on maintenance reliability and standardized work as well as implemented Maintenance Request Processes to establish job tracking & prioritization. He has utilized Lean & Six Sigma methodologies to drive culture change and implement process improvements, develop maintenance request processes, and standardized work instructions.

 

He has managed manufacturing operations in an FDA-regulated facility, implementing KPIs and utilizing ERP systems for scheduling and resource planning. As a Welding Supervisor, he implemented autonomous maintenance programs to identify roles & responsibilities for weld associates, reduce departmental quality defects, and developed a Maintenance Downtime Log that identified and tracked occurrences. Terrence has directed skilled trades and production associates, audited ISO 9002 quality procedures, and implemented PM checklists for improved equipment efficiency.

 

Terrence holds a BS in Manufacturing from Georgia Southern University and is a certified Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt and certified OSHA 10.
