John Karimalis is a skilled strategic leader able to swiftly identify emerging industry trends, behaviors, and capacity gaps. His extensive tactical business management experience has led business transformations across high-volume manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain operations for multi-billion-dollar industries, as well as for private equity operating companies. John’s leadership to proactively engage employees through empowerment, education, and effective team structure has allowed companies establish policies and procedures that align with the company culture and vision.

Prior to joining The ProAction Group, John was Chief Operating Officer for a PE backed food and spice manufacturer where he built and transformed the business into a stronger and diversified industry-leading organization. Under John’s leadership, and during the 2020 pandemic, the business scaled an additional 30% while maintaining world class customer service. He drove full P&L management of Business Operations, maximizing revenue while reducing expenses to expand profit margins. John implemented process improvements that heightened operational efficiencies and led strategic sourcing renovations that enhanced the overall Delivered Gross Margin (DGM) by 3%. This led to a successful exit in December 2020.

As a Vice President of Supply Chain and Operations, John coordinated and propelled a 250+ member team to diagnose and solve capacity gaps. The outcome included minimizing expenditures, gaining an additional 25% of capacity, expanding shifts from 2 to 3, improving work prioritization processes, and right-sizing the workforce. As Senior Director of Supply Chain and Logistics for a producer and distributor of bakery products, John implemented new Demand Forecasting and Transportation Planning tools that contributed to 7% ($5M) reduction in inventory.

John has a BS in Business Management from University of Phoenix, Six-Sigma Black Belt, Bose Lean Production System Certification from Bose Corporation and a Leading and Management Globally certification from Yale School of Management. John is expected to obtain his Executive Master of Business Administration from Quantic School of Business and Technology in 2022.
